Feature & Follow Friday #10

Feature & Follow is a Friday meme created and hosted by Parajunkee and Alison Can Read! Answer a feature question, make new friends and gain new followers!

Q: Worst cover? What is the worst cover of a book that you've read and loved?

The worst cover for me will always be the one for "The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time" by Mark Haddon. It was a school read...grade 9...and unfortunately, nope! I did not love it.

I hope you guys won't kill me for this one >_< There is absolutely no way to describe how much I love Cassie's books, but City of Bones' cover....to be honest, was what scared me away from this book back when I first saw it. -smacks myself on the head- The chest is j-just too...dominating!! And the bottom half of the models face isn't really how I pictured Jace, so that didn't help the situation either.

I find the other covers of TMI fine, and I absolutely love each and every cover of TID.

What about you? Share your link below in the comments and I'll be hopping! Happy Friday, everyone!

  1. I'm not the biggest fan of any of TMI covers really... but I adore all three of TID! :D Maybe I am slightly bias as I love that series more, haha. (:

  3. Mark Haddon's book is hideous, I agree. City of Bones is not a favorite of mine either. Great picks!

  7. *kills you* Ahhh I love the CoB cover (though, I may be biased, it's like my favorite book and I feel the need to love everything about it). I do agree with you on the first one, though! :) New follower & thanks for stopping by my blog and following me!

  10. I love the mortal instrument series but i agree with you on the cover. The next two in the series weren't bad but the first was weird. I think it was the way they made the runes that had the cover look so off! New follower :) Here's my FF

  11. I was extremely embarrassed for buying this because of the chest. I'm glad I did though or I would have missed out on a great story! The cover is still embarrassing though. Thank you for following back!

  13. LOOL, I know what you mean about the The City of Bones cover! Like, a random [and GIANT] chest just glowing in the sky. But I actually don't mind it, it's only when you really LOOK at it that it becomes freaky.:P I haven't read the book [ahhh!], so I don't know if that's what Jace is like, but I'll take your word for it.(:

Lovely post, I'm an old follower to your wonderful blog!<3

  15. Hahahaha oh gosh, I almost picked CoB for my FF answer too!
I remember when my friend first started reading this book--I had never heard of the series then--and I totally teased her mercilessly because of that cover! I think I've managed to block out my dislike of the TMI covers because I just love the series so much.

  16. I see what you mean about both of those! :-)

  18. WHAT????? City of Bones?? This cover is what drew me to READ it the first time, before I ever really heard anything about this series. WOW. Yeah, I am surprised at that, his chest is amazing, and exactly how i pictured him, lol.
Ohwell, everyone has their taste, but I think more will think more on my side on this one, lol, well, at least in my tumblr fans of TMI anyway, lol
but the first one you mention, that one is bad. I agree

  19. LOL.... The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night Time sounds.... interesting :P Can't say that cover does much for me either!

I actually don't mind the City of Bones cover. I mean, it isn't my FAVOURITE ever, but it's not my most hated either!

  20. I agree with you there! I LOVED The Curious Incident, but all of the covers I have seen look pretty boring. The UK one is a bit better than the one you posted, but still not by much! I never liked the City of Bones cover either!
