[Clickey the ghostly cover for Goodreads!] Title: Betrayal (Haunting Emma #2) Author: Lee Nichols Publication: 2011, Bloomsbury
Summary:Emma Vaile is the most
powerful ghostkeeper in centuries. Which is great when she's battling
the wraith-master Neos, but terrible when she's flirting with fellow
ghostkeeper (and soul mate) Bennett. When ghostkeepers fall in love, the
weaker one loses all power, and that's not something Bennett can
handle. Heartbroken and alone, Emma tries to lose herself in school with
fellow ghostkeeper, Natalie. When a new team of ghostkeepers arrive-one

We get the great treat of accompanying our protagonist Emma in yet another bout of extreme excitement and wonderfully devilish romance.
Ms. Nichols keeps up fantastic momentum in this second book I was hooked from the very first page! There is a great deal of character development that effectively coloured the saga with richer tones, and although serious in matters of plot, "Betrayal" is packed with laughs and comical moments that I absolutely loved as well.
Ms. Nichols also pushes Emma and Bennett's (Oh Bennett -swoon-) relationship to swoon-worthy new heights, and along with a driven storyline and perfectly lovable new additions to the original cast of characters, "Betrayal": would blow you away just as "Deception" had, if not more. This was an incredibly fast read for me, and the energy levels here were ridiculously high. You could really feel the buzzing electricity of it all throughout the book, from beginning to end. I literally could not put this book down. It was just so addicting, even a bit more than the first, I felt.
I bought it at Indigo, walked out of the store reading, read through last period English class (relaaaax, we weren't doing anything anyway XD -hand flap- Sophomore year.), read on the subway after school, and finished it while waiting for the bus home. It was exhilarating and left me feeling breathless. Rating:✰✰✰✰ 4.5 Ghostbusting Hoots
Final Notes: Old review! (as you can see from the Sophomore year part) I actually bought this one myself because I just couldn't wait for the library to get a hold of a copy. It definitely was a fun ride so if you like ghostbusting epic-ness, sizzling romance and plenty of awesome action, check this series out!
